It all started in March, or maybe a little earlier.
The greatest weapon is always love and so, with eyes full of thoughts, some time ago I told a person dear to me about Mfumbwi, a small village in Jambiani that had been asking for our help for years.
Maintaining 11 kindergartens is a big commitment and requires perseverance, taking charge of a new one is an act of responsibility.
Today, this act of responsibility has been signed, with the help of Umbo and the friends of Babbo Luciocio.
Today we inaugurated the Babbo Lucio nursery school: the village chief, the children from the nursery school and the Koranic school, the children who don't go to school yet, the mothers, fathers, and siblings were present.
These wonderful parties are always conducted in Swahili, but no words are needed to really listen.
Songs, dances, poems and prayers; hugs, smiles, colorful clothes.
We were all prepared for the party, the village bright with life and us with our t-shirts that we washed by hand yesterday, eliminating every little stain scratched by the children of the kindergartens visited this week, until they became pure white, to show up in our best dress.
Babbu, in Swahili, means grandfather. And from today, Father Lucio is the grandfather of all the children of Mfumbwi.
