The buildings have now taken shape. The walls are complete, and the spaces are well-defined.

Once the final touches on the walls are completed, work will move on to the roof…

In memory of our dear friend, the Elena Project continues.
Doctors and healthcare workers from ZOP set up the Mobile Camp on Saturday, August 3, at the kindergarten in the village of Jambiani.

There was remarkable participation from both children and adults, as evidenced by the ZOP report attached in the photo.

We thank Juma for his attentive participation and all the ZOP operational staff.

First Phase of the Renata D’Amico Project: Perimeter Walls
Let's include the latest photos received from Juma on the first phase of the RENATA D’AMICO project.

Within about ten days, the perimeter walls are expected to be completed and subsequently plastered. The entrance gate will be ordered and installed, and then, at a steady pace, we'll prepare for the second phase of the work.
Once again, we prove that our association leads with actions before words.
Thank you all, as always, for your affection and participation. Your support allows us to move forward.

The construction work for the RENATA D’AMICO Institute begins!
Today, the fencing work has begun, enclosing the space that will house the new RENATA D’AMICO Technical Institute of Agriculture, which will also offer professional courses.
Attached are some photos sent today by our trusted Juma, who is overseeing the beginning of the construction work on-site.

Additionally, attached are photos of the preliminary drafts for the project that will soon be realized: a single building with classrooms for the agricultural school, a separate structure with two classrooms for professional courses (yet to be defined), and plenty of space for outdoor practical exercises.

A modest educational hub, yet with the hope that it will become a vast container of achievable dreams, thanks to the support of Gocce D’Amore
Salerno, June 10, 2024
Dear friends and supporters,
Another year is behind us, and due to technical reasons, we haven't been able to update you on the projects we've started, those in progress, completed, already defined, or yet to be outlined for the new year.
Everything has been diligently overseen by our dear friend Juma, who has carried forward our endeavors from the very beginning. For this, we sincerely thank him.
A new and important project is "in gestation" by our board, and we hope that during the next volunteer trip, scheduled for mid-June, it will be "born"—at least in its most essential points. But we will discuss it in more detail upon their return.
Here, we begin to showcase the work—some maintenance carried out in kindergartens… and more…
Sports Field Project
At the beginning of the year, work was carried out to level the strip of land along the edge of the field, creating an athletics track. The work, completed with a full rolling of the terrain, is now finished, allowing athletes to train and run without using the playing field.

Elena Project
The collaboration continues with volunteer doctors from ZOP and MOBIL CAP, providing medical assistance to children and adults in every village where we are present.

Mujuni Kindergarten Project
Accepting the village chief’s invitation, last year an inspection was carried out on a facility designated as a kindergarten for about 70 children. It quickly became evident, as shown in the published photos, that intervention was necessary—doing our best to salvage what could be saved in order to contain the costs of the required work.
The expenses were almost entirely covered by ROTARY and ROTARACT from a part of Campania, resulting in a more functional structure with efficient facilities, an improved outdoor area with playground equipment, and fencing.
For the joy of the children, teachers, and the village, the newly completed kindergarten was handed over in February of this year.

Kibuteni Kindergarten Project
A period of heavy rains during November and December rendered the sanitation facilities for children and teachers unusable. As a result, it was necessary to demolish the existing structure and rebuild it completely from scratch. The entire cost of the project was covered by the association, and the work was completed by the end of March.

Uzi 1 Kindergarten Project
The construction of a new building, located behind the existing kindergarten as requested by the village, is nearing completion. This was made possible thanks to the village's active participation and financial contributions toward the estimated costs.
In the meantime, work was carried out on the essential new masonry fencing, as well as the restoration of the windows and doors, which had become deteriorated after more than ten years of use.
Uzi 2 Kindergarten Project
We had previously shared that the number of children accommodated in the kindergarten had increased significantly, and the existing classrooms could no longer hold them all. Therefore, it became necessary to construct a spacious new classroom within a free section of the internal area while also carrying out much-needed maintenance work.
Unguja Kindergarten Project
Minor maintenance work has been carried out while waiting for the Ministry, which is building a new kindergarten nearby, to better assess the future of our complex. In the meantime, we have taken the necessary steps to repair part of the fencing.
Jumpi Kindergarten Project
In this kindergarten, a small building was constructed to serve as a kitchen and storage area. Once again, we requested and successfully obtained financial participation from the village for the costs. The work is now well underway and will be completed soon.
Mtende Kindergarten Project
The unique nature of the soil on which the school building was constructed (red earth) requires an exterior repainting every two to three years, including maintenance of the corrugated metal roof. These maintenance works are currently underway.
Sogeani Kindergarten Project
The solid condition of the largest kindergarten complex we built in the village, along with the substantial number of staff funded by the Ministry, has allowed us to postpone any maintenance work for now, potentially addressing it during a future visit.
Mfumby Kindergarten Project
The interior of the kindergarten classrooms remains in fairly good condition. However, exterior repainting was necessary, along with minor maintenance work on the restroom. Additionally, for aesthetic purposes, part of the masonry of a building used as a Quranic school—constructed by the village outside the school area—was plastered. Lastly, a water tank was installed to improve water accessibility.
Mwendawima Kindergarten Project
The kindergarten is in good condition. Only a few minor works have been carried out, including the renovation of a small external room, which will be used as a storage area.
Additionally, some playground equipment for the children that had been damaged due to excessive use has been repaired. At present, no further interventions are planned.
Kibidja Kindergarten Project
The village places great importance on the education of their children.
Indeed, in addition to the currently operating kindergarten, the village, with the support of a local hospitality company, is working on the construction of a new building that will be used as a primary school.
In the meantime, we have renovated part of the wire fencing, replacing it with a masonry fence, and have carried out improvements on some sanitary facilities.
Kikadini Kindergarten Project
This kindergarten, located at the center of Jambiani village, receives special attention, as it is also situated close to a primary school.
We hope that this kindergarten will become a reference point for older students attending high school who did not have the opportunity or chose not to attend kindergarten. At the same time, we aim to encourage future children to take advantage of the kindergarten’s facilities and the valuable teachings provided by the teachers.
We dedicate the utmost attention to the teachers, ensuring that they keep the kindergarten clean and functional while also teaching the young students the importance of following guidelines for a better way of living.
