All active projects from 2022 have been confirmed and will continue throughout 2023.
This year, efforts are focused on the construction of a football field of regulation size in the village of Jambiani..
L’opera complessa prevede cinque fasi:
1) Transporting over 1,000 cubic meters of soil to a plot of land granted by the Kibidgya community to shape the football field.
2) Fencing the entire playing field, with a masonry foundation and plaster finishing, along with the installation of entrance gates
3) Construction of bleachers along one side of the field, with plaster finishing, and the excavation of a well to ensure access to the necessary water supply
4) Construction of a locker room equipped with a water and electrical system, along with sanitary facilities
5) Construction of a small facility to serve as a storage area for tools and miscellaneous items

The entire project is expected to be completed within the first months of the second half of the year, with the contribution of free labor from the village.
Construction of a new classroom for the Uzi kindergarten.

Renovation project for the kindergarten in the village of Mujuni.

Construction of a new classroom for Uzi 2 kindergarten.
During visits conducted with volunteers Alfonso, Giulia, Gaetano, and Andrea in Jambiani, the teaching staff has requested the construction of a new classroom to accommodate the significant increase in children attending the kindergarten.
Given that there are over 220 children and the existing classrooms are insufficient, it is considered feasible to meet this request. After discussions with our trusted representative Juma and the builder, the work to be carried out, the precise location, the project, and the cost have all been confirmed.
Thus, the construction of this new classroom begins.

Construction of a new section for the Uzi and Unguja Ukuu kindergartens
We have returned to Jambiani with two new volunteers, Arianna and Antonio, who are eager to gain new experiences and assess the impact of our efforts in the villages in the southern part of the island.
The children, teachers, and village representatives are expecting us, and as usual, we will meet them accompanied by our trusted representative, who brings many updates.
The greatest surprise is that our commitment to promoting education, symbolized by the kindergarten we have established over the years, is truly bearing fruit. Mothers no longer feel fear or hesitation in sending or bringing their children to the kindergarten. However, with this exponential growth in numbers—now exceeding 1,300—the existing classrooms can no longer accommodate everyone.
Perhaps even the Ministry of Education has recognized the situation and is working on authorizing and funding the expansion of several school sites in some villages. This has been confirmed in the village of Unguja Ukuu and the villages of Uzi.
Even in these cases, we were asked to contribute, and we did not hesitate. The photos of Unguja and Uzi show the progress of the work.

The children, teachers, and village representatives are expecting us, and as usual, we will meet them accompanied by our trusted representative, who is a pillar of many updates.
The greatest surprise is that the seed (the kindergarten) we planted over the years is now bearing fruit.
The mothers no longer have any fear or hesitation in sending or bringing their children to kindergarten. However, with this exponential growth in numbers—now exceeding 1,300—the classrooms can no longer accommodate everyone as they normally would.
Perhaps even the Ministry of Education has realized this and, where possible, is working to authorize and provide some financial assistance for the expansion of school sites in several villages.
We have confirmed this in the village of Unguja Ukuu and in the villages of Uzi.
Even in these cases, we were asked to contribute, and we did not hesitate to do so.
