Projects: Year 2013

At the beginning of the year, a new trip to the nurseries of Zanzibar to meet the new volunteers responsible for WHY and together with them outline a program that should see WHY involved in a series of small interventions in the nurseries requested by us for a long time. We visit a small building built by another association where an API PROJECT will be completed, in fact, about ten local people have been selected and included in a training and information plan that will allow them to make this interesting initiative productive and will become small entrepreneurs.

In the meantime, WHY, with a project presented and financed by the Province of Trento, is carrying forward and is well underway with the construction of a house for their volunteers responsible for the area, and with the construction of a building that, in the project, will be used as a professional training institute.

After completing the necessary formalities and visiting the nurseries, we flew again to reach the Casa di Grazia in the village of LUKOBE in Mwanza.

A stop at the reception house with the children of Hisani as guests and then with the owner of the association we discuss our self-help project consisting of setting up a small farm on land adjacent to Grazia's house with a chicken coop, a pig farm and a small stable.

If the entire project comes to fruition, we will leave Hisani the task of managing it and making it work. We will leave him with the words of a beautiful and meaningful poem that we often remember with our gestures and behaviors (by a poet from Cameroon).

and we will sing together, brother,

you and me, even if you're white and I'm not.

It's gonna be a sad song brother

Because we don't know how he does it,

and it's hard to learn.

But we can do this, brother, you and me.

There is no black song

There is no white song

There is only music, brother.

And it's music that we'll sing

Where the rainbow ends-
