After having happily inaugurated the first lot of works for the Sogeani nursery school last October and having attended the magnificent sporting event of the “youth games” in front of a large audience of Zanzibaris from various villages, this year we were busy with the demolition, reconstruction and expansion of the second lot of works for the construction of two more classrooms, the teachers' room and a large covered patio.
The works were quite complicated and the lack of ready and available resources made it difficult to quickly define the entire work with the completion of the toilet block, the external arrangement with the installation of games and a fence made according to local tradition with wood and panels of plant leaves.
In the meantime, during our visits, we were updating the situation of the kindergartens already built, noting a constant growth in the number of students present, we were approached by the women of the village of Mtenda, inviting us to their village to verify the existence of a small existing building that they would like to be used after our intervention as their kindergarten.
Having taken note, we returned to the office in search of some of our good "Samaritans" who would allow us to satisfy the requests received.
As we hoped, the miracle came true and in the village of Mtenda a new kindergarten was born with three classrooms, an outdoor space for games and a small room for toilets.
The works on the second lot of the Sogeani nursery school were completed and inaugurated in October, as was the new nursery school in Mtenda, with the supporter present who, with his donation, allowed 90% of the entire work to be completed.
