Dear friends,
we are in a difficult moment that we all hope to overcome soon.
The activities we had put in “construction” are currently at a standstill, but contacts with our correspondent, our friend JUMA, are weekly.
In Zanzibar the situation does not appear to be an emergency, but the attention of the Authorities is very high.
There are few cases reported in “quarantine” for this reason they have implemented all the directives taken by our government.
Schools are closed, as are many clubs, the airport is closed, gatherings are prohibited and for this reason the association of volunteer doctors of Zanzibar has had to suspend the planned “MOBILE CLINIC CAMPS”.
The schools were closed, but the teachers were paid their wages yesterday, they were worried about all of us and about the many volunteers they have met due to the emergency situation we are forced to face.
They greet us with affection and through Juma we reassured them and promised to return as soon as possible.
